Easy mushroom gravy that is flavourful and can be served with grilled vegetables, mashed potatoes or meat.

mushrooms

30 g

shallot

1 tbsp

butter

1/4 tsp

pepper

1/4 tsp

dried sage

1/2 tbsp

soy sauce

1/2 tbsp

maple syrup

1/2 tbsp

all-purpose flour

175 ml

whole milk

Step by step

  1. Slice the mushrooms in slices of about 0,5 cm thick. Dice the shallot.

  2. In a large pan, heat half of the butter and brown the mushrooms. Add the shallots and bake until translucent.

  3. Heat the remaining butter in a pot. Add the flour and whisk until the mixture turns dry and smells nutty.

  4. Add the milk to the flour mixture and whisk until the milk thickens and coats the back of a spoon.

  5. Put the mushrooms to the blender. Add the milk mixture, pepper, dried sage, soy sauce and maple syrup. Pulse for about 30 seconds on speed 4.

  6. Reheat the gravy before serving.

  7. Serve with your favorite roasted vegetables or meat.
