Get to know your home espresso machine
Sleek, beautiful and a pleasure to use. Let's get to know all the different parts of your new espresso machine.
Power switch
The on/off switch at the side will soon become part of your morning routine. Get up, switch on.
Removable bean hopper
Just twist and lift to remove the hopper to empty, refill or switch beans. The Auto Purge function cleans out grounds when you change beans.
Pre-ground coffee bypass
Fancy something different that's already ground? Or maybe decaf? Just skip what's in the grinder with this handy chute.
2.2L water tank and filter
Fill to make up to 20 espresso shots*. Or make taller drinks without having to keep refilling. The filter helps stop limescale buildup.
Drip tray
Say goodbye to spills – the tray is big enough to catch them all so your coffee corner stays spotless. It even has an 'empty me' reminder.
Dispenser
Adjust the height up to 5.4" (13.7cm) to fit anything from a cute espresso cup to a tall glass. Then watch that deliciousness pour in.
Milk tube
The tube attaches to the milk container so the machine can steam, heat or froth the milk for you.
Milk container with lid
Pour your milk of plant-based drinks** in here and attach to the container. You can also store your milk in it, in your fridge, so it's all ready to pop on. It's 790ml BPA-free plastic.
Water hardness test strip
Use this to test for the hardness of the water, which can affect the taste of the coffee. This is then programmed into the machine (see below).
Setting up your espresso machine for the first time
Switch on
Once you're switched on, follow the prompts on the display. You select your language and whether you want to install the water filter now.
Place water filter and test water hardness
Install the filter into the tank using the mounting aid. Test the hardness of your water with the testing strips, then enter that level into your machine.
Fill the water tank
Next, fill up the water tank with fresh water from the tap, slot it into place and close the lid.
Fill the bean hopper
Put your favourite beans in the bean hopper, locking it into place. We then recommend practising a few times before making your first real drink.
How do I make my first drink?
Now you're ready! You'll love how intuitive it is to use – just follow the steps below.
Put your cup on the tray
Make sure to place it directly under the nozzles on the drip tray. Tip: you can pre-heat your cup on the cup warmer space at the top.
Connect your milk container
Take your chosen milk container or carton and pop in the hose that's linked to the dispenser.
Choose your drink
Use the touchscreen buttons to scroll to your dream drink. Then you can personalise it by temperature, strength, size and more, until it's perfect.
Press play and watch it go
Ta da! That's it. If you liked the settings you chose, you can save them to your user profile to keep. Then just keep experimenting.
What can I make with my espresso machine?
It's the ultimate way to explore espresso, like having your very own barista. Choose from 40+ drink options, with all the favourites like Ristretto and Cappuccino or Cafe au lait all on the menu. You can even go further by adding ice cream and more.

How to clean and care for your machine
To keep your Fully auto espresso machine KF8 working at its best, you'll get into a routine of care. No need to keep track, as you'll be prompted to clean it by notifications!
Daily rinsing
Auto brew unit rinsing' warms the machine on start-up and quickly rinses residue. After use, the machine prompts you to do 'easy milk rinsing' to avoid any milk buildup.
Weekly care
Wash the drip tray when it gets full, empty used coffee from the puck container and give the machine a wipe. If you make milky drinks, wash out the milk container and frother.
Longer-term love
It's best to change the water filter every 2 months. You'll see prompts to run 'brew unit clean' and 'descale' to remove residue. 'Milk system cleaning' gives the milk system a deep clean.
Tweaks for taste
If you're putting in new beans, Auto Purge makes sure the taste isn't compromised by any grounds left behind. Remember that you can adjust the grind size to optimise flavour!
All your favourite coffees, unlimited
1 or 2 cups
Espresso moments should be shared. Make 1 or 2 espressos drinks at once, by selecting "2x" and placing 2 cups on the tray.
Beans or pre-ground coffee
Espresso is all about beans and they go in the hopper. You also have the option to add pre-ground directly into the coffee grounds shaft.
Automatic milk drinks
Simply fill the milk container with milk or a plant-based alternative to create personalised milky drinks. Just be sure to pick plant-based mode.
Feel good with a plant-based lifestyle
Vegan or just love oat drinks? Steam a whole lot more than just whole milk! The unique plant-based mode means you can steam non-dairy milks for your drinks too. Just choose between plant-based or dairy-milk cycles when you make your selection.
Personalise it with up to 6 user profiles
You may like your Americano warm and your Cappuccino strong. Everyone has their own tastes. Create up to 6 profiles with shortcuts to your go-to drinks and customised favourites. Adjust the strength, temperature, size and more until it's just right.
Tips for your espresso machine
Make 4-5 test cups
When you first use the machine, make several test drinks to run the system through.
Buy recently roasted, untreated coffee
Fresh coffee is still bursting with flavour and it's best for the hopper too.
Adjust grind fineness
The machine has an integrated grinder and the grind size affects the taste. Choose finer for light roasts and coarser for darker.
