Apple pie smoothie
almond milk, plus more if needed
sweet apple, peeled, cored and roughly chopped
frozen banana, chopped
old-fashioned rolled oats
pitted medjool date, chopped
Step by step
In order, combine almond milk, apple, banana, oats, vanilla, cinnamon, date and ice in blender jar of the KitchenAid ARTISAN Power Plus Blender. Secure lid and set blender to Smoothie setting. Blend until machine turns itself off.
Alternatively,combineingredients in blender as directed, secure lid and turn dial to Speed 1. Slowly increase speed to high (Speed 10 or 11). Blend until completely smooth, for about 30 seconds. If necessary, scrape down sides of jar with the Flex Edge tamper.
If smoothie is too thick, blend in splash or two of almond milk. Smoothie is best if served right away.
This bre-rich smoothie includes a date for sweetness, which you can leave out or replace with 1 teaspoon honey.
