How to get the bowl ready to use

Your stand mixer is individually adjusted for optimal performance. When using the bread bowl with baking lid, you might need to readjust the beater-to-bowl clearance. Check here how to do this.

Place the bowl

Turn the mixer OFF (0) and unplug. Unlock and lift the motor head. Place the bread bowl on the clamping plate to secure.

Attach the dough hook

Put the dough hook on the mixer shaft in the usual way. Then place the motor head back down and lock in place.

How to make your first loaf

Knead your dough

Add your ingredients to the bowl and knead your dough. Once done, turn the mixer OFF (0) and unplug. Raise the motor head and remove the accessory.

Remove bread bowl

Now remove the bread bowl by twisting to unlock it from the clamping plate.

Let the dough prove

Let the dough prove in the bowl. Once done, you can shape the dough onto the lid, ready for baking. Gently place the bowl on top and secure in place.

Bake in the oven

Place the bread bowl (lid-side down) on the middle rack and bake for instructed amount of time. Set your rack as close to the centre of the oven as possible, while leaving enough height to fit.

Remove the bowl lid

Remove the lid to expose the bread and finish baking for 10 more minutes and allow the crust to brown. Remove to a cooling rack and let cool completely before slicing. Always use oven gloves!

Cleaning and caring for your bread bowl

Pre-soak the bowl

To remove baked-on food, soak the bread bowl in hot, soapy water for 15-20 minutes or as needed before placing it in the dishwasher.

Pop in dishwasher

Both the bowl and lid may be washed in the dishwasher on the top or bottom rack, or, clean thoroughly in hot sudsy water and rinse well.

Always dry the bread bowl thoroughly before storing away ready for your next bread making session!

Scrub lock marks

After use, some marks may appear where the bowl locks into the base of the stand mixer. The marks are normal and can be removed by cleaning with an abrasive cleaner and sponge, or baking soda and warm water.

Minimise sudden heat changes

Avoid sudden temperature changes. Ceramic should be heated or cooled gradually to avoid thermal shock and possible damage. When hot, do not place the bowl in cold water or on a cold surface. Allow to cool.
