Why is the mixer vibrating or head wobbling?

When you use your stand mixer, are you finding the head is vibrating or bouncing? See our advice about a vibrating mixer here...

A KitchenAid stand mixer is built solidly and designed to stay in place while in use. If you're experiencing movement of the mixer, here are some things to check:

Is the head of the mixer locked into place?

If the beater is too high, then the mixer head cannot be locked into place.

Is the beater scraping the bottom of the bowl?

If the beater is too low, it will push into the bowl, and cause the mixer head to bounce.

Is the silver pin on the base of the mixer loose or protruding?

If the silver neck pin is loose, it can cause the mixer head to bounce.
